The towns, Malton, Norton, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley are at the centre of our area, and the boundaries extend to Hawnby, Bilsdale and Rosedale to the north, Terrington and Sherrif Hutton in the West, Ebberston and Sherburn in the East and to Thixendale and Weaverthorpe on the Yorkshire Wolds to the south. Parts of this area are also covered by our friends at the East Yorkshire Family History Society, The Cleveland, North Yorkshire & South Durham Family History Society and The City of York & District Family History Society, all of which overlap our area of interest.
