The Group plans to build and maintain a library of printed and other works for the use of Group members and to preserve transcribe and publish such material including documents and monumental inscriptions. Any member wishing to participate in any of the Group's projects or activities, please contact the Secretary |

Current Projects: Transcribing of local Parish Registers of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials Recording of Monumental Inscriptions Photographing war memorials and researching our local heroes Liaising with local schools Help sessions in local libraries Classes for beginners Our own Family History Fair to be held on 18th August 2012 at Lady Lumley's School, Pickering  Can you help? We need some volunteers to help with Monumental Inscription recording in Ryedale and for transcribing parish records Training will be given Phone: 01653 628132; 01653 628952 or 07813 977613 Newspaper Resources Obituaries, Marriage & Funeral reports, in local newspapers, are often a useful source of family information. The Malton Messenger, Malton Gazette, York Courant, Scarborough Times, &c., all cover events in our area Ideas ! Your ideas and suggestions for other local projects will be welcome |
