histories, maps, parish records, poor books, monumental
inscriptions, our own growing library of books and journals
which may be borrowed, Computers with internet connections.

About Hovingham
Make it a day out!
Visit the historic village of Hovingham, in picturesque
Ryedale.
Our Research Room overlooks the village bowling green and
tennis court. Nearby hostelries offer good food and accommodation.
The Village Stores provides basic groceries, newspapers,
&c., Hovingham Bakery and Cafe is an ideal place to
stop for refreshment or a most excellent lunch! See also
Hovingham Hall, the home of the Worsley family for over
300 years. The Worsley family are direct descendents of
Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658).
How to find us:
Hovingham is on the B1257, approximately
mid-way between Malton and Helmsley. The Village Hall is situated
on the Main Street, next door to the Malt Shovel Inn, and opposite
the School and Hovingham Hall. MAP
